INSPIRED BY TRAVEL

TRAVEL SKETCHING

Painting is my favourite way to capture memories. I always travel with a small set of watercolours to fill my travel journal with sketches of buildings, landscapes, people and food.

MINIATURE ARTWORK

Another way I like to to paint is on the tiny scale. Each original painting is smaller than a 50p and fits into a 3.5 x 4.5 cm mount and is framed 10 x 11 cm. 3.5 cm deep. I use a combination of watercolour paints and pencils on thick watercolour paper. I’m frequently asked if I use a magnifying glass to paint – I don’t, it’s just me!

LARGE PROJECTS

My home is full of artwork inspired by or from my travels. For larger paintings I normally work with acrylic on canvas.

Little Amy Tours Artwork

As a child I began painting and drawing on the back of envelopes, letters, tables – pretty much any surface. I would spend hours trying to draw people and landscapes. Later, I studied Art & Design at school but beyond that everything I’ve done has been self-taught.

When I started to travel, art became a way for me to reflect on where I was and collect memories.
