Artwork

As a child I began painting and drawing on the back of envelopes, letters, tables – pretty much any surface. I would spend hours trying to draw people and landscapes. Later, I studied Art & Design at school but beyond that everything I’ve done has been self-taught. When I started to travel, art became a way for me to reflect on where I was and collect memories.

Painting is my favourite way to capture memories. I always travel with a small set of watercolours to fill my travel journal with sketches of buildings, landscapes, people and food.

Another way I like to to paint is on the tiny scale. Each original painting is smaller than a 20p. I use a combination of watercolour paints and pencils on thick watercolour paper. Iโ€™m often asked if I use a magnifying glass to paint โ€“ I donโ€™t, itโ€™s just me!
